Business is risky as it is.

A fire at a South Korean government data centre a week ago, caused a catastrophic data loss and paralysed public services – a stark lesson in risk management. This single-point failure shows that even technologically advanced nations are vulnerable without a robust disaster recovery plan.

Such an event could have been prevented by a straightforward, cost-effective audit. An audit asks the fundamental questions:
✳️ Where are our backups?
✳️ How frequently are they updated?
✳️ Can we successfully restore from them?

A simple review would have identified the critical gap of having no off-site backups. Adhering to the long-standing “3-2-1 rule” (three copies, on two different media, one off-site) could have averted this total loss.

Breakpoint believes in calculating risks, not ignoring them. We support organisations in implementing cost-effective system redundancies to mitigate such failures.
